    A.C. "Buck" Crews

    October 13, 1915 - July 16, 2019

    Mr. A.C. “Buck” Crews, 103, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at his home in Escatawpa, MS. He was born October 13, 1915, in Samson, Geneva County, AL. Mr. Crews was a retired electrician with Local union 903 IBEW, an avid fisherman and gardener. He will always be remembered for his beautiful vegetable gardens, worm beds and bountiful fruit trees. Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Crews, mother and father John Benjamin and Rosa Vernon Owens Crews; a son, Kenneth Paul Crews; and grandsons, David Patrick Harrison and John Allen Crews. He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Pat Crews, Sam and Janet Crews, Gerald and Joyce Crews, Rev. Richard and Beverly Crews and Tommy Crews; a daughter Faye and Cliff Harrison; 13 grandchildren, Suzanna (Ian)Talbot, Miranda (Adam) Townsend, Dr. Jill (Charlie) Long, Jennifer (Jack) Davis, Angela (Kelvin) Nelson, Paula (Brandon) Williams, Roxanne (Shawn) Vail , Brian (Jennifer) Crews, Selena (Jeff) Vice, Patrick (Andrea) Crews and Danny Harrison; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Hemby and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m. at Holder-Wells funeral Home, Moss Point, Ms. Funeral service will follow at 3:00p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Crews and Rev. Matt Morse officiating. Interment will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, MS. Pallbearers will be Jeff Vice, Tony Vail, Colton Vail, Brian Crews, Justin Heines, William Heines, and Brandon Williams. The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice, and Oxford Health Care especially Ms. Betty Bolton, Nickie Roy, Queenie Hughes, Lukeitha Johnson, Monique Springfield and Herma Prince for their patience and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Escatawpa Baptist Church at 7101 Highway 613, P.O. Box 725 Escatawpa, MS 39552-0725.
