    Norma Grace Welch

    March 3, 1934 - March 4, 2020

    Norma Grace Welch, of Moss Point, passed away on March 4, 2020, at the age of 86. Norma was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Moss Point, MS. Norma was a volunteer at Singing River Hospital and loved being active with the Jackson County Republican Women for many years and those women loved her.She worked at Lennep’s Hardware until her retirement. She enjoyed attending her church, family gatherings, reading, walking and socializing. Norma was born March 3rd, 1934 in Hickory Flat, MS but lived most of her life in Moss Point after her family moved there when her father worked at Ingalls Shipyard. She is preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Louise Welch, brother Bobby H. Welch, Sr. and her companion of over 30 years, Gary Ray Lennep of Moss Point. She is survived by her sister, Billie Womack of Springfield, Missouri and niece Rachel Flatness (Steve), of Strafford, Missouri; sister in law Gretta Mallette Welch, nephews Eric Welch and Brandon (Amber) Welch, several great nieces and nephews, and her extended family, Debbie Lennep (James) Myers, Michael (June) Lennep, Wayne Lennep of Moss Point, and Wendy Lennep (Joey) Duggan of Ocean Springs. Visitation will be Saturday, March 7th at 9:00 am to 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Moss Point, MS. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Griffin cemetery in Moss Point. Pallbearers are Steve Flatness, Mike Lennep, James Myers, Joey Duggan, Wayne Lennep, and Jimmy Wheat. The family would like to thank Praetorian Health Services, Lighthouse Assisted Living and Memory Care, Ocean Springs Hospital, USA University Hospital and Notre Dame Hospice for their exceptional care during Norma’s illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Joseph’s Catholic church in memory of Norma.
